Dr. Karl Paulnack, the third and final candidate for the position of Dean of the School of Music will visit the Ithaca College campus on February 6th and 7th. Members of the Ithaca College campus community can find Dr. Paulnack’s bio and c.v. on the Provost’s website under “Finalists for the Dean of the School of Music” https://www.ithaca.edu/provost/ Dr. Paulnack will make a public presentation on Wednesday, February 6th from 4-5 PM in Beeler Rehearsal Hall W3104 . We encourage all members of the campus community to attend Dr. Paulnack’s presentation which will include ample time for Q&A. The presentation will be followed by an informal reception. Dr. Paulnack has served as Director of the Boston Conservatory’s Music Division since 2002. He also serves as music director and conductor of the Contemporary Opera Lab of Winnipeg, and serves on the faculty of the Vancouver International Song Institute. Previous appointments include co-chair of the accompanying and coaching department of the University of Minnesota, and he has served on the faculties of the Tanglewood Music Center, University of Southern California, Roundtop Festival, Ithaca College and Music Academy of the West. His educational background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts in Accompaniment from University of Southern California, Master of Music in Accompanying from University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Music in Piano (Performance) from the Eastman School of Music.
