Winter Springboard Diving Clinic

Contributed by Kathy Farley on 02/12/13

We are providing divers an opportunity to train on a 1-meter and 3-meter springboards with structured workout regime, supervised by experienced coaching staff. With two (2) training options, coaches will be able to provide appropriate workouts that will teach basic diving skills and enhance overall training and performance.

This clinic is a fundraising event and sponsored by the Ithaca College Men’s and Women’s Diving Team.  Ithaca College Diving Coach Mike Wantuck and college divers will conduct and supervise all training sessions.

The clinic will run as an 8-week program from February 5th to March 29th with practices starting at 6 pm.

Training Groups

The Novice/Learn-to-Dive group will focus on fundamental aspects of springboard diving including board work, forward and backward approaches and take-offs, and line-ups and entry technique. This group will train Mondays & Wednesdays from 6-7 pm.

The Advanced group will be set up to help divers who have some diving experience and training, and are preparing for meets, interested in learning new skills and refining others. The focus will be in-pool diving and belt work. Tues-Thurs-Fri, 6-8 pm. (excepting certain Thurs/Fri when pool is reserved for Championship meets in Feb/Mar)

Boys High School
Boys coming off high school season can join the Advanced group from the end of Feb to March 29th
