IC Mock Trial Captures Individual Awards at AMTA TournamentContributed by Michael G. Whelan on 02/11/13 Ithaca College Mock Trial competed at Penn State this weekend in the American Mock Trial Association Regional Tournament, but failed to advance to the next round of intercollegiate competition. Nevertheless, three Ithaca College students captured individual awards. Ithaca's A team went 4-4 over the weekend, narrowly losing to a Penn State team that cost IC a return to the championship series in Philadelphia. IC's B team went 2-6 in the competition. Teams that advanced were from Penn State, Rutgers, Georgetown, George Washington, Drexel and Bowling Green. Senior Carly Halpin won an Outstanding Attorney Award, placing 4th among a field of over 100 competitors, while Senior Jess Mortellaro and Sophomore Greg Johnson won Outstanding Witness Awards. |
