The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen series at Ithaca College will host a free public showing of the documentary “Radical Harmonies” on Thursday, March 21st at 7 p.m. in Textor 103.

The documentary chronicles the Women’s Music movement’s rich history of creating a cultural life based in a commitment to diversity, personal integrity, feminism, and women loving women. It opened doors for women musicians, producers, sound and light technicians, and for new women-owned recording companies and women-oriented shows. Features such early stars as Cris Williamson, Margie Adam, Linda Tillery, Meg Christian, Holly Near and Mary Watkins, as well as contemporary artists the Indigo Girls, Ani DiFranco, *censored* and Animal and Melissa Ferrick.

Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen is sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services. The theme of this year’s series is “Music: From A Cappella to Queercore.” For more information, visit www.ithaca.edu/lgbt
