As of midterms, are you failing Academic Writing 10600? You might consider retaking it this summer online.

Whether you put too much on your plate this past semester and had to withdraw from Academic Writing 10600 or couldn't get into a class this past year, consider taking it online this Summer; Academic Writing 10600 is a pre-requisite for many courses during your sophomore year.

Starting May 28, for one month, Academic Writing 1 will be offered online using the course management system, Sakai. The asynchronous course will allow students to complete all assignments, class discussions, and drafts on their own time at their own pace. The Sakai site will provide students with video content, illustrating the concepts explored and expectations for each major assignment. Also, students will have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions about the readings and student drafts. This 4-week course fulfills the standard requirement for Academic Writing 1 and is equivalent to the traditional face-to-face version of the course.

For further questions about the course, contact Dr. Mary Lourdes Silva at msilva@ithaca.edu.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Mary Lourdes Silva at msilva@ithaca.edu or (607) 269-5359. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
