On April 7, Sunday Baroque—a weekly public radio program with more than 250,000 listeners—will broadcast selections from a recording by the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, led by School of Music’s Jeffery Meyer, Director of Orchestras and Artistic Director of the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic.

The program will begin with the “Concerto for Horn and Orchestra,” by Peter Joachim Fick, one of 22 tracks featured on the CD “Baroque Music for Horn and Strings,” released by Centaur records in 2012.

The collection can be previewed and/or purchased here.

Featured in part on the recording are Ithaca College School of Music faculty Nicholas Walker, who played principal bass in the orchestra, as well as Susan Waterbury on violin and Heidi Hoffman on cello.

Broadcasting on public radio stations across the United States since 1997, Sunday Baroque is a celebration of beloved and appealing music from the baroque era (1600-1750) and the years leading up to it, offering great performances by yesterday's and today's best performers.
