Professor of Double Bass, Nicholas Walker, traveled to Rostock, Germany to perform in a rare event, a five hour concert of music performed on the double bass, a kind of "BASS MARATHON". Joining Professor Silvio Dalla Torre, and the the bass class of Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock at the end of their winter semester, fourteen double bassists offered a buffet of music for friends of the low tones. The concert in the Chamber Music Hall of HTM Rostock was very well attended by residents of the larger Mecklenburg-Vorpommern community, and culminated in a standing ovation.

Walker performed his arrangement of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Sentimental Waltz, three dances from Johann Sebastian Bach's Second Suite for violoncello in D minor, Stephan Schäfer's Ode, and a special Walker/Dalla Torre arrangement of the Chinese National Anthem, in honor of Dalla Torre's recent marriage in China.
