Dr. Christopher House, Communication Studies, Publishes Article in the International Journal of CommunicationContributed by Laurie Arliss on 04/08/13 Christopher House, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies in H&S and former predoctoral diversity fellow, is author of an article that will be published in a special edition of the International Journal of Communication. The 2013 Critical Communication History Special Edition will feature the article titled, "Religious Rhetoric(s) of the African Diaspora: Using Oral History to Study HIV/AIDS, Community, and Rhetorical Interventions." The article is based on Dr. House's dissertation research, conducted at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as his during his predoctoral fellowship year at Ithaca College. He focuses on the use of oral history and the examination of religious rhetoric to explain how black church leaders create safe spaces for people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as models for future rhetorical interventions to address the health crisis.
