Cathy Lee Crane, associate professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences and Studies, was named a 2013 Guggenheim Fellow in Film/Video. John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has awarded fellowships to a diverse group of 175 scholars, artists, and scientists. Appointed on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise, the successful candidates were chosen from a group of almost 3,000 applicants. The Guggenheim Fellowship will support Crane's upcoming project -- a production of a speculative history on how the United States entered World War I as told through the story of one girl's adoption by a butcher in 1917.
