Four students from the Department of History presented their research at the recent Phi Alpha Theta West-Central New York Regional Conference held at SUNY Geneseo on Saturday April 13th.

Caitlin O’Connell, “Crime and Punishment: A Comparison of Trials and Capital Punishment in Ancien Régime and Revolutionary Paris”

Jacob Schroeder, “Rebellion and Fear in the Provinces: Local Government and the Origins of the Terror”

Corinne Swanson, “Creating ‘The People’: Jacobin Politics in Revolutionary France”

Zachary LeViere, “Pirates and Pindaris: The Use of Criminality in the Early British Empire”

Two of the students received special recognition for their work.

Caitlin O’Connell was the recipient of a “Best Paper” award. 

Zachary LeViere received an “Honorable Mention” for his paper.
