Thunderbird Users: Have You Made the Switch to Outlook Yet?Contributed by Karen Compton on 05/01/13 It's been almost a year since the college switched to Microsoft Exchange email (Live@edu) and began supporting Microsoft Outlook 2010 for Windows and Office 2011 for Mac. Around the same time, Mozilla announced that it would discontinue development of Thunderbird. As of June 2013, ITS will no longer be providing the Thunderbird email program on new computers. In addition, Thunderbird files (including local email) will no longer be moved from the old computer to the new one as part of the technology renewal process. ITS strongly encourages anyone still using Thunderbird to switch to Microsoft Outlook as soon as possible. Outlook Transition Guides
ITS also fully supports Outlook Web App through myHome. For people who find it convenient to access their email through myHome, there is no requirement to switch to the Microsoft Office Outlook email client. ITS Helpdesk |
