Art History faculty presented their research at two recent conferences.

Jennifer Jolly, Associate Professor of Art History, recently presented her research on the political, cultural, and visual reconfiguration of Lake Patzcuaro in Michoacan, Mexico.  Her April 19 presentation and discussion, "Seeing Lake Patzcuaro," streamed to members of the University of Arizona's Water Seminar, and was attended virtually by interdisciplinary scholars and graduate students in Arizona and Mexico City.

Lauren O'Connell, Professor of Art History, shared her sabbatical work at the annual meeting of the Society of Architectural Historians, held in Buffalo, NY this April.  O'Connell's paper, "'This Will Save That': André Durand and the Battle for Patrimony in Provincial France," looks at tensions between modernization and memory in post-revolutionary France, focusing on threatened late Gothic heritage in the city of Rouen.
