Patricia Zimmermann Honored with Park School Faculty Writing AwardContributed by Melissa Gattine on 05/10/13 Patricia Zimmermann was recently named the recipient of the Park School Faculty Writing Award for her essay, "Humanist and Poetic Activism: The Rob Flaherty Film Seminar in the 1950s." Zimmerman, professor of screen studies and Codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, was selected unanimously by a judging panel consisting of Park School faculty whose professional expertise represent scholarly writing, journalism, and screen/scriptwriting. According to the judges, Zimmermann's work "represents a culmination of multiple years of solid scholarship and examines an area of cinema history that gave birth to the early independent film festivals that has rarely been explored." The essay was published by University of St. Andrews Press (2012). Patricia Zimmermann Honored with Park School Faculty Writing Award Comment from
