The Office of Marketing Communications welcomes new staff and bids a fond farewell to Molly Polk.

Molly was originally hired in 2010 as the first marketing communications manager (MCM) for the School of Music and then as the director of client marketing services in the summer of 2012. She has recently accepted the position of associate vice president for communications at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Her last day at Ithaca College will be Friday, June 7. A farewell gathering will take place on Thursday, June 6, from 3 to 4 p.m., in the McHenry Lobby of the Whalen Center.

While the search for Molly's replacement is being conducted, the associate director of athletic communications (formerly sports information) will report to Molly Israel, director of communication. The MCMs will report to Paul Deamer, interim MCM team lead and MCM for the School of Business. Paul will report to Bonny Griffith, director of recruitment marketing.

On Monday, May 20, Matt Morgan started at IC as the new MCM for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. On Monday, June 3, Megan Christopher will begin work as the new communication and media relations assistant.

Natalia Sturtz-Verastegui, who has served as the MCM for the School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) since August 2012, is taking on a new post in a new role as the MCM for the Office of the Provost and Vice President of Educational Affairs, serving most of the departments that report to the provost.

Kim Anderson, who was the MCM for the Office of Extended Studies, will be moving to H&S as the MCM for that school. These changes take effect next Tuesday, May 28. The Office of Extended Studies will now be covered by the MCM for the Office of the Provost and Vice President of Educational Affairs.

An updated list of the departments that each MCM is responsible for can be found on the Office of Marketing Communications website.

Last month the advancement communications team, which includes Chris Pollock, Wendy Hankle, and Helene Maddux, also joined the marketing communications staff. Chris reports to Rachel Reuben, associate vice president for marketing communications.

Charles McKenzie was hired last month as a temporary social media consultant until a replacement for the multimedia content specialist position is hired. A search is in progress for that position.

An updated organizational chart can be found on the Office of Marketing Communications website.
