The Liberator follows the rise and fall of the friendship between abolitionists William Lloyd Garrison and Frederick Douglass. Garrison sacrifices all to the cause and his newspaper, The Liberator. Dann and Pickett will continue to develop The Liberator over the next year, and will collaborate with Breaking Bread Theatre in New York, NY (Joe Calarco, IC Acting ’92 and Jen Waldman, IC Musical Theatre ’97, co-artistic directors) to produce a reading for the theatre industry in 2014. Ithaca College students and alumni who participated in the workshop include: Evan Arbour (Acting ’15), Kelly Fairbrother (Acting ’15), Ashton Muniz (Theatre Studies ’14), Joe Pietropaolo (Acting ’14), Matt Prigge (Acting ’13), Josh Sedelmeyer (Acting ’12), Maggie Thompson (Acting ’15), and T.J. Wagner (Musical Theatre ’14). For more information, please contact Wendy Dann (wdann@ithaca.edu) or Sarah Pickett (pickett@cmu.edu).
