Katherine Ahrens '15 (Math & English) and Angela Kramer '13 (Math) have co-authored, with David Brown (Mathematics Department), an article entitled "Convergence of m-bonacci golden ratios", accepted by the International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology.

This research project generalizes the theory of Fibonacci numbers to the so-called m-bonacci numbers and explores their connection to the golden ratio.  The work began in Spring 2013 in the Math Department's Research Experience course and was completed by Katherine and David during the summer of 2013.  Katherine was supported by a grant from the H&S Dean's Office under the Ithaca College Robert Noyce Teaching Scholarship Program.
