The Friends of Ithaca College invite you to enjoy musical gems from stage and screen at the 22nd annual Founder's Day Concert in the Park. "From Stage and Screen: Toe Tappers and Tearjerkers" Sunday, September 15, 2013 Join the Friends of Ithaca College in DeWitt Park for a stirring selection of music from Broadway and Hollywood. Conductor Stephen Peterson and the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble will perform music that captures the energy and emotion of favorites like "Colonel Bogey March," "Everything's Coming Up Roses," and selections from Les Misérables and My Fair Lady. Bring your family and friends (and a few blankets and chairs) to enjoy this fine afternoon of music. Complimentary refreshments will be available for all. Please note: Ithaca's annual Porchfest event falls on the same day as the concert, so if you want to experience more live music and mingle with your neighbors, be sure to explore the streets of Fall Creek and Northside. Find more information at porchfest.org. The Founder's Day Concert in the Park commemorates Ithaca College's founding in 1892 as the Ithaca Conservatory of Music and the rich connection between the college and the Ithaca community ever since. For more information about the concert, please contact Jeanette Rivera-Watts at 274-1431 or griverawatts@ithaca.edu. You can learn more about the Friends of Ithaca College on their website.
