This is a friendly reminder to students living on campus that all Residence Halls, except for the Circle Apartments and the Garden Apartments, will close for Winter Break at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, December 21, 2013 and will not reopen until 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 (Terrace 03 and Boothroyd Hall will reopen for approved break residents at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014). Residents will not be authorized to enter a closed residence hall for any reason. For more information on Winter Break closing, please review the instructions you will receive from your Resident Assistant (also available on our web site at https://www.ithaca.edu/reslife/docs/reslifeguide/closingnotices/). Fall residents of the Garden Apartments, the Circle Apartments, Boothroyd Hall, and Terrace 03 are eligible to remain in their room assignment (during the portion of the break their hall remains open) only if they are assigned to on-campus housing for the Spring 2014 semester. To request to remain if you are eligible, please complete and submit a Break Occupancy Request form on our web site at https://www.ithaca.edu/reslife/guide/opening_closings_breaks/break_occupancy/ no later than 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Late requests will not be approved. If you live in a Residence Hall that will be closed during the break and need to remain on campus for all or part of the recess, you will need a resident of Boothroyd Hall, Terrace 03, the Garden Apartments, or the Circle Apartments to host you in their space. Please contact your intended host directly in order for them to make arrangements for the break period. Your host will need to complete and submit the Break Occupancy form noted above in order to officially host you. Please note that the room’s capacity cannot be exceeded, that the gender of the students staying in the room cannot be mixed, and that your host cannot submit a Break Occupancy Request for any vacant space in their room or apartment. Your host must surrender their room key to you, and Residential Life will authorize card access for hosted students in the Residence Hall for the break period. If you have questions regarding Break Occupancy, please E-mail breakhousing@ithaca.edu. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Office of Residential Life at breakhousing@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3141. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
