Faculty Grants Available for Projects Incorporating Aging IssuesContributed by Paula Davis on 09/16/13 The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute is welcoming applications for its Faculty Grants Program, aimed at encouraging the integration of aging-related issues into the development of faculty teaching, outreach, and research activities. Grants are up to $1,000 per academic year and are available to all IC faculty members; new projects are especially welcome! Past grants have supported a documentary on the Silent Generation, computer game models for physical therapy applications, the intergenerational choir, and Retirees in Service to the Environment (RISE). Many types of activities can be supported with the funding; the ICGI is particularly interested in projects that include students and community partners. The number of grants each year will be determined by quality of submissions and budgets requested. All proposals will be competitively peer-reviewed by ICGI staff and faculty members. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the 2014 academic year until all funds are committed. To access the application, click here. To discuss your project or application, please contact Rhoda Meador, director of the Gerontology Institute, via email or give her a call at 4-1965.
