This presentation is part of the ongoing Ithaca College Lecture Series at Longview.

Mary Ann Rishel, Emeritus Professor of Writing from Ithaca College, will give a presentation that will examine humor as it is used in cartoons to satirize Qatari and expatriate women, and by women in support of their voice.  She will explore the Gulf’s social complexities that restrict women’s humor but which, ironically, encourage its use as protest, community and survival.

This presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00 PM in the auditorium at Longview.

Anyone from the campus community who is interested in attending this presentation should contact Christine Pogorzala, the Ithaca College/Longview Coordinator, for directions and information on parking at 274-1051 or pogorzal@ithaca.edu.
