Renowned fiction writer, and winner of the 2013 Man Booker International Award, Lydia Davis will give a public reading on Thursday 9/19 at 6:00pm in the Handwerker Gallery on the IC campus. Davis is the author of seven short story collections including Almost No Memory, Samuel Johnson is Indignant, Varieties of Disturbance, and The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis, as well as a novel, The End of the Story. Davis is also a prominent translator of French literature. Her many awards include a MacArthur Fellowship, a Whiting Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Lannan Literary Award for Fiction, and she has been named a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government for her fiction and translations.
