Three credit field class involving experiential and service learning on the Big Island of Hawaii. ** Info session Thurs. Sept. 26 in Gannett 110 at 7pm **

The course introduces an anthropological approach in understanding issues such as cultural resource management, environmental preservation, Native Hawaiian culture and history, migration, multiculturalism, religious pluralism and the impact of tourism. We work with Native Hawaiians, experience Volcanoes National Park and camp in the remote Valley of the Kings, Waipi'o.
