Ithaca College has three wi-fi networks; each serves a slightly different purpose and population.

  • My-ResNet is the student wi-fi network managed by Apogee. It is available in all buildings on campus. All students, including those that live off campus, should use My-ResNet on campus. Students using My-ResNet will be allocated their bandwidth per their agreement with Apogee even in academic and administrative locations. In addition, My-ResNet has more bandwidth available for student use than ICAirnet and ICAirnet-Secure.

If you live off campus and don't have a My-ResNet account, connect to My-ResNet under settings; when you open a browser you will be directed to a My-ResNet page and can create an account. Select off campus from the Residence Hall pull down menu. All Ithaca College students can have a free account with Apogee.

  • ICAirnet is the unsecured guest network. This network provides internet access to campus guests. Users connect to ICAirnet under settings, open a browser and must enter an email address before getting connected. Faculty, staff and students can use this network but it was primarily intended for guest access.

  • ICAirnet-Secure is the encrypted network for faculty and staff. To initially connect, a small piece of software is downloaded and the user must enter Netpass username and password. Students can use this network but will get better performance on My-ResNet. ICAirnet-Secure currently does not work with 64-bit operating systems like Windows 7 and Windows 8. ITS will be adding 64-bit OS compatibility shortly. IC laptops with Windows 7 are 32-bit not 64-bit and can connect to ICAirnet-Secure.

ITS is actively working on wi-fi issues and is focused on making sure the academic buildings meet the curricular needs. To report wi-fi issues in academic and administrative buildings, use this form. Contact Apogee's 24/7 Call Center, 1-877-478-8893, for problems in the residential halls.
