Participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity to dive into the real and complex Hawaii behind the tourist hype. This 3 credit field class is all about experiential and service learning on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The course introduces an anthropological approach in understanding issues such as cultural resource management, environmental preservation, Native Hawaiian culture and history, migration, multiculturalism, religious pluralism and the impact of tourism. We work with Native Hawaiians, experience Volcanoes National Park and camp in the remote Valley of the Kings, Waipi'o.
