Family Weekend 2013

The 2013 Family Weekend will be held October 25-27.  A full listing of events for the weekend is available online:  www.ithaca.edu/familyweekend.

Students whose family members are attending can pick up registration materials and tickets to Saturday’s football game in the north foyer of Phillips Hall beginning at 11:00 on Friday.  Please bring your ID.

Members of the campus community are invited to attend any Family Weekend events.

 

 

Friday evening events include a presentation by the Ithaca and Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the film “Drew:  The Man Behind the Poster” highlighting the work of premier movie poster artist of the 1980s Drew Struzan, Hillel Shabbat services and dinner, and the School of Music Concert Band and Vocal Jazz Ensemble concert.

President Rochon will open Saturday morning with his address “How to Make the Most of the New IC Experience” from 10:15 – 11:00 am in the Emerson Suites.

Additional events on Saturday include:

  • The football parents breakfast,
  • Displays and open houses by the academic schools,
  • Presentations on topics such as study abroad opportunities, the 21st Century library, and Career Development
  • Athletic events including:  the Ithaca vs. St. John Fisher football game, Women’s Soccer vs. Stevens Institute of Technology, and Women’s volleyball and field hockey both vs. St. John Fisher
  • The School of Music Concert featuring the Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble.
  • The Protestant Community Family Even Song
  • AND 2 new events this year – A Family Photo booth and a Young Alumni Panel sharing their “Life After Ithaca” stories

Family Weekend programming continues on Sunday with The First Year Cabaret, Catholic Mass; a Hillel brunch; the School of Music Concert featuring the Women’s Chorale, Madrigal Singers, Chorus and Choir; and Men’s Soccer vs. Cortland.
