Take Back Your Time - Thursday, October 24, 2013, Noon - 1:00 p.m.Contributed by Theresa Stavrus on 10/21/13 October 24th is national TAKE BACK YOUR TIME day. This date signifies that, if Americans lived in Western Europe, we would have already completed our work year. It is a day to reflect on how we spend our time and how our lives can truly reflect our values and priorities. Recreation and Leisure Studies students invite you to stop by the Business School 2nd floor atrium from noon – 1 p.m. to take a break. You can have a cup of herbal tea, savor some chocolate, get a shoulder rub, take an assessment to learn more about how you spend your time, learn what the TAKE BACK YOUR TIME movement is all about, or just lounge around in good company and do nothing. This event is provided by students in Leisure Education: A Therapeutic Recreation Intervention. For more information about the TAKE BACK YOUR TIME initiative, see www.timeday.org. TAKE BACK YOUR TIME is a major U.S./Canadian initiative to challenge the epidemic of overwork, over-scheduling and time famine that now threatens our health, our families and relationships, our communities and our government. ~ www.timeday.org Linda Heyne, Ph.D., CTRS, Professor Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Theresa Stavrus at stavrus@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3335.
