Do you suffer from FoMO?

Dr. Przybylski from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom found that students with the "Fear of Missing Out" usually do these things:

  • email/text/use social media during key points of the day (i.e. immediately after waking up, during meals, right before falling asleep)
  • check social media during classes
  • pay more attention to their phones while driving than those who do not have FoMO
  • report lower mood and overall satisfaction

Learn more about the FoMO phenomenon and how to counteract the temptation of nonstop communication in this month's issue of Student Health 101!

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Nancy Reynolds at nreynolds@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3136. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
