Janice Levy, professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies, won first prize in “Best of Show,” an annual collaborative effort between The Photo Review and the Photography department at the University of the Arts.

“Best of Show” features a diverse collection of prize-winning work by 16 photographers. The work selected is international in scope from the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States. The exhibition, running November 1-December 6, 2013, gives the public the opportunity to view the juried work featured in The Photo Review’s 2013 competition issue. The University of the Arts has a longstanding relationship with The Photo Review, an independent journal of photography founded in 1976.

Levy’s award-winning image was taken during her during her 2010-2011 sabbatical in Riyadh, KSA.

The 2013 competition was juried by Paul Roth, senior curator and director of Photography and Media Arts at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
