Dr. Christopher House invites interested students to join him over the winter session for an online course experience.  He will teach CLTC 10000, a liberal arts course focused on Culture and Communication (and required for that major).  Students can register for winter 2014 on homerconnect.

The course explores and interrogates the ways that communication establishes and enacts identity and power dynamics.  Students critically analyze social identities as they are communicated, shaped, and reshaped through communication.  The  main goal of the course is to make students, as global citizens, aware of the ways communication processes (like language, media, and discourse) are used to construct dominant and non-dominant social identities (such as race, class, gender, sexuality).
