A Message from the Provost to Students Regarding the 55th Cortaca JugContributed by Natalia Sturtz-Verastegui on 11/14/13 A message on behalf of Marisa Kelly, Provost and Vice President for Educational Affairs and Students of Ithaca College: On November 16th, Ithaca College will host the 55th Cortaca Jug with our varsity football teams vying, of course, for possession of the Jug. We are all very proud of the accomplishments of both teams and believe that the game this year will once again be a great one. As a fan, you can expect to see an outstanding contest on the field. Both teams and the coaching staffs have worked hard since late August to have successful seasons. The Ithaca vs. Cortland game will provide the players and coaches with a great challenge and the fans with a fun-filled, exciting afternoon. The stadium gates open at 10 a.m., kickoff is at noon. Please note, no bags, purses, or containers of any kind will be allowed into the stadium. This game has a long and wonderful history. The players and coaches have worked too hard to have the game tarnished by the actions of a few fans. Good sportsmanship on and off the field will make this an event that we will remember fondly for years to come. Sincerely, Marisa Kelly C. Gregory Sharer |
