If so, there's still time to register for “Caring for Your Aging Parents,” a two-part webinar series produced by the Gerontology Institute and offered in partnership with the Office of Human Resources. Part 1: “Initiating Caring Conversations,” will be presented Wed., Dec. 4, 1-2 p.m., while Part 2: “Assessing Needs and Resources,” will be available Wed., Jan. 22, 1-2 p.m.

Full descriptions are below. Pre-registration is encouraged. Sign up for one or for both! Instructions on how to attend each webinar will be sent to you up to two days prior to each event. The HR PC training room, G054, will also be available if you need a computer.

Part 1: Initiating Caring Conversations   Wed., Dec. 4, 1-2 p.m.
Family roles change as our parents get older. How do we manage this new relationship, and how do we learn to really communicate with our parents about the difficult issues facing them at this time of life? This first hour will look at the psychosocial aspects of caregiving.

Part 2: Assessing Needs and Resources, Wed., Jan. 22, 1-2 p.m.
How do you help your aging parents or relatives meet their changing needs? This webinar will help you navigate health care, legal, financial, and housing issues.

Also, join us for Brown Bag Lunch follow-up caregiving discussions at noon on Friday, Dec. 6, and Friday, Jan. 24. Bring your lunch; we’ll provide beverages in 413 Center for Health Sciences (Gerontology Resource Room).
