Last weekend Nicholas Walker, Professor of Double Bass, taught double bass at three midwest music centers, the Cleveland Institute of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, and Carnegie Mellon University.

Walker’s CMU recital featured works by J.S. Bach, Walker, Coldplay, and Jimmy McHugh, and was attended by students of CMU, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra double bass section.  The master class featured solos and orchestral excerpts from Bottesini, Kousevitsky, Bach, Berlioz, Mozart, Ginistera, and Strauss.
