A new webseries highlighting the Skip Landen Golden Doorknob Awards premieres this week on www.knobontrial.com. The series, Murder Trial of the Golden Doorknob, debuts on December 5 and features work from numerous student filmmakers and Park School courses.

Last year Prof. Steve Gordon created an assignment for his Program Development class -- package the Golden Doorknob films for distribution. A student team led by Ben Ratner ’14, who is also the producer of the webseries, pitched a concept about a doorknob that goes on trial of murder with select Golden Doorknob films used as evidence in the case.

Then students from Gordon’s Production Management for Media class prepped the shoot as part of their final project. Additional student and faculty volunteers also joined in the effort.

This fall, students from the Digital Distribution and Marketing class are in charge with promoting the webseries as they practice crowd-funding, social media marketing, and web design. Audio guru and Park School Lecturer Jon Hilton assisted with the final sound mix.

In addition, some of the courtroom footage from the series will be incorporated into training exercises used in Prof. John Scott’s Avid Editing class next semester.

So is Mr. Doorknob, an inanimate object, guilty of murder? Tune in and find out.
