2 Athletic Training Majors Win Professional ScholarshipsContributed by Paul Geisler on 01/29/14 Senior Athletic Training and Physical Therapy majors, Rory Fawcett and Andrew Claypool were recently awarded regional and state Athletic Training scholarships at Annual EATA Conference in CT The long line of undergraduate excellence in Athletic Training education at Ithaca College continued recently, as 2 more senior Bomber AT majors were recognized for their outstanding academic and clinical records at the 2014 EATA Annual Conference & Clinical Symposium, in Mashantucket, CT. Senior AT/DPT major Rory Fawcett (Chester, NH) was awarded $2,500 with the Hartmann-Conco Sports Medicine EATA Scholarship Award, while fellow Senior AT/DPT major Andrew Claypool (Horseheads, NY) was awarded $2,000 with the NATA District 2 Scholarship from the NYSATA. Rory also competed and represented IC very well in the annualEATA Quiz Bowl, while fellow seniors Gary Cohen (Stuart, FL) and Sydney Folk (Long Island, NY) competed in the Student Taping Contest. Overall, 23 current undergraduate AT majors and 6 program faculty members attended the conference in CT--quite a showing for the program! |
