Professor Janice Levy traveled to Antigua in January to lead two photography workshops. Her visit was part of the Government Assisted Technology Endeavour (GATE) project and ICT cadet program, which “provides an opportunity for young people interested in working in information technology related fields to acquire technical skills, as well as to gain valuable workplace experience.” One of Levy’s workshops focused on technical and critical photographic skills. Her second workshop was intended for intermediate, advanced, and professional photographers and focused on ways these photographers can market their work. Levy was welcomed to Antigua by Hon. Balwin Spencer, the Prime Minster, and Dr. Hon. Edmond Mansoor, the Minister of Telecommunications, Science, and Technology. Levy has traveled to the island numerous times in the past decade as part of an ongoing relationship with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
