The Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts will present Rajiv Joseph’s play, “Gruesome Playground Injuries” directed by Dennis Chambers ’14. This production is fully directed, produced, and performed by students of the Department of Theatre Arts. Tickets for “Gruesome Playground Injuries” are free, but reservations are required. 

To reserve tickets (one ticket per person), please e-mail ICTams1@gmail.com and indicate your first and second choice of performance date and time. An email will be sent to you confirming your reservation. All tickets are distributed on a first- come, first-served basis and must be picked up at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the performance.

Performance times are: 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm Sunday, February 16th and 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm on Monday, February 17th. All performances will be held in The Earl McCarroll Studio Theatre (Studio 2) in Dillingham Center. Studio 2 is located in the basement of Dillingham and is accessible from the Peggy Ryan Williams parking lot.

“Gruesome Playground Injuries” tells the story of two childhood friends, Kayleen and Doug, as they reconnect at different intervals throughout 30 years of their lives. During this time span, they are able to connect with each other through their memories, losses, scars, and pain. Please be advised that this production includes sensitive material such as self-harm and cutting. *

The cast of “Gruesome Playground Injuries” includes: Katie Drinkard ’14, Cam Wenrich ’17, Niamh O’Connor ’17, and Liam Sweeney ’16’. “Gruesome Playground Injuries” artistic staff includes: Director, Dennis Chambers ’14; Lighting Designer, Paul Radassao ’15; Sound Designer, Evan Herman-Chin ’16; Costume/Scenic Designer, Lena Forman ’15; Technical Supervisor, Chloe Kirkwood ’16; and Stage Manager, Travis Coxson ’15.

The Department of Theatre Arts at Ithaca College is a nationally recognized professional theatre-training program and attracts students from across the United States and beyond. Throughout the production season, undergraduate students present all aspects of theater in a professional model.
