Ithaca College Mock Trial concluded its season at the American Mock Trial Association Regional Tournament in Buffalo this past weekend and was unsuccessful in its efforts to achieve a bid to the championship series next month in Hamilton, Ohio.

Our “A” team finished with a record of 3 wins and 5 losses, and our “B” team finished with a record of 1 win, 5 losses, and 1 tie.  Teams from NYU, Syracuse, Michigan State, University of Rochester, Cornell, and St. Bonaventure advanced to the next round.

There were some positive outcomes for our young team.  Taj Harvey finished 9th overall from among a field of over 200 attorney competitors to win an Outstanding Attorney Award, and Nate Spilman finished 1st and Layla Solt finished 4th among a field of over 200 witness competitors to win Outstanding Witness Awards. Our teams also deserve credit for earning Honorable Mention recognition for the Spirit of AMTA Award, which is presented to the team that best exemplifies the ideals of honesty, civility and fair play. None of this could have been achieved without the tireless efforts of our two team leaders, Juniors Greg Johnson and Emily Francis.
