Ithaca College is participating in a national survey on Student Technology Use sponsored by Educause Center for Analysis and Research. Selected students will receive an email Monday morning, 2/17/14, from the ITS Helpdesk asking them to participate in this study. The survey will be available until Friday 2/28/14.

The survey asks about your experiences with and attitudes toward technology and your academic experiences. Your responses will help ITS, Ithaca College and beyond understand how to use technology more effectively to benefit students. There are no right or wrong answers; just answer as honestly as you can. The survey is completely confidential and should take about 15 minutes to complete.

The 2013 survey found that:

  • Students recognize the value of technology but still need guidance when it comes to better using it for academics.
  • Students prefer blended learning environments while beginning to experiment with MOOCs.
  • Students are ready to use their mobile devices more for academics, and they look to institutions and instructors for opportunities and encouragement to do so.
  • Students value their privacy, and using technology to connect with them has its limits.

This is the first time Ithaca College is participating in this study and your input will help inform our strategic decision-making! The results of this survey are very important to us. If you have any questions or problems, contact helpdesk@ithaca.edu or ecarsurvey@educause.edu.

Thank you very much for your help and participation!
