I am pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 London Center Faculty Sabbaticals.

Catherine Taylor, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Writing (School of Humanities and Sciences), plans to spend the Fall 2014 semester in London and proposes to teach “Reading and Writing the London Essay.” Dr. Taylor writes, “I can think of no greater pleasure than teaching a course that brings together my love of London, the form of the literary essay, and my commitment to helping students understand and express their various relationships to their physical, political, emotional, and intellectual landscapes.”

Daniel Isbell, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Music Education (School of Music), will spend the Spring 2015 semester in London and plans to teach, “Exploring Cultural Diversity in the London Music Scene.” Dr. Isbell expects his London experience to lead to “an expanded understanding of the many varieties of ways people make music outside of the formal setting.”

William Sheasgreen, Director of the London Center, joins me in congratulating Drs. Taylor and Isbell. We look forward to their contributions and interactions with London Center students, instructors, and staff.
