FYRE Faculty Associate Information Sessions:

This coming academic year (2014-15) FYRE seeks to recruit 48 energetic, dedicated, and student-oriented Ithaca College faculty to serve as Faculty Associates. The Faculty/Staff Associate role, at its core, is designed to help students explore their ICC themes in residentially based groups and achieve a set of articulated learning outcomes. To this end, it is crucial that Faculty Associates are able to creatively design learning opportunities (i.e. “Theme Programs”) for students outside of the classroom and effectively partner with Resident Assistants (and other Residential Life staff) to do so. 

The primary responsibilities of the Faculty Associate include:

• Building relationships with students within the theme-specific group (average size is 36 students)
• Maintaining communication with Residential Life staff and students
• Developing and facilitating, in partnership with Resident Assistant(s), three (3) Theme Programs each semester
• Participating in the FYRE Theme Kick Off event during Fall Welcome
• Participating in one (1) planning meeting per month with Resident Assistant Partners

Note: Faculty Associates must be full-time, salaried faculty of Ithaca College. Preference given to interested faculty. Applications will be accepted from interested staff if FYRE is unable to fill all positions.
