Distinguished Italian Writer Dacia Maraini to Give a Lecture at Ithaca CollegeContributed by Marella Feltrin-Morris on 03/04/14 Dacia Maraini, a world-renowned novelist, journalist, playwright and activist, will give a lecture entitled "Saints and Rebels: Portraits of Women in History" at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Handwerker Gallery. Maraini will talk about the representation of women in her plays and novels. The lecture will be followed, at 6:00 p.m., also at the Handwerker Gallery, by the dramatic reading of Dacia Maraini's play, Charlotte Corday, translated by Marella Feltrin-Morris and adapted by Emily Jackson.
Both events are free and open to the public. A reception is scheduled after the dramatic reading. Sponsored by the Departments of Modern Languages and Literatures, Writing, and English, the Women Studies Program, the H&S Educational Grant Initiative, and the Office of the Provost.
