At the concert, Titlebaum conducted and performed solos with the JMU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Band on his compositions “Ornetti,” “Solitude Etude,” “Round Chi-Town,” “Danca Latina,” and “Too Many Things” and his big band arrangements of “If I Were a Rich Man” (from Fiddler on the Roof) and “The Lady and the Tiger” (composed by the band They Might Be Giants). During the 2-day residency, Titlebaum also gave master classes to JMU students on arranging, composition and jazz rhythm. |
