Ithaca College

Mike Titlebaum, who currently serves as director of Jazz Studies at the Ithaca College School of Music, recently presented a clinic entitled “Developing Your Band’s Groove: The Inner Game of Rhythm” at TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) in San Antonio.

The clinic, which was attended by many Texas music teachers and students, focuses on innovative ways of using a metronome in a group context, which enables students to improve their sense of ensemble rhythm and groove.  The clinic has previously been presented at the Jazz Education Network in Dallas and at the New York State School Music Association winter conference in Rochester, NY.
