Women of Ciudad Juárez Saturday, March 22, 4pm Studio 2, Dillingham Teatro Travieso will give a powerful performance that addresses the realities of life for women living, and dying, in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The play, written by Cristina Michaus, has been translated to English by the director, Jimmy Noriega. The performance will be followed by a Q & A with the director and members of the cast. Jimmy A. Noriega, Assistant Professor of Theater at College of Wooster, is the 2014 recipient of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) prize for Teaching Innovation and is currently touring with Teatro Travieso as they present the play, Women of Ciudad Juárez, on university campuses.
Teatro Travieso/Troublemaker Theater, will also host an acting workshop on Sunday, March 23rd, open to all Ithaca College students interested in performance and social justice. The workshop will explore the challenges of embodying roles that deeply engage with the identities and realities of victims, perpetrators, and accomplices.
