On March 22nd, Ithaca College held its first TEDx talk.  It featured an array of speakers and Mary Bowers from the Class of 2013 was one of them.  The title of her inspirational talk was, "Rethinking the Student Body," which summarized in TED talk style the incredible 18 month long research she conducted for her anthropology major on the experiences of students with disabilities at Ithaca College.  She (re)defines "disability" as "uncelebrated human variation" and moves us to (re)consider normality and disability as myth.  She received a standing ovation on Saturday. May her work and talk continue to move us reconsider our student body here at Ithaca College.
