Ithaca College

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Barbara Belyea, faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy, as the next Faculty Athletics Representative. 

The NCAA formally recognizes four key institutional positions entrusted with ensuring that our athletics programs operate in accord with the educational mission of the College:  the President, the Director of Athletics, the Senior Woman Administrator, and the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR).  Professor Belyea is committed to our student athletes and their educational experience and I am confident she will serve our student athletes and Ithaca College with distinction.   

Professor Belyea will succeed Professor Wenmouth Williams, who has served in this capacity for a number of years and who is retiring from the faculty at the end of this academic year.  Professor Williams has served with distinction in this role and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his service.   

Professor Belyea’s appointment, which is for two years renewable up to four times, follows an open nomination process that concluded on March 14th.  Her appointment is effective June 1st.   Please join me in thanking Professor Belyea for agreeing to serve in this capacity.
