Please join H&S Pre-Law and the Ithaca College Alumni Association in welcoming Peter Mayer '70 (School of Business) and Jennifer Lahm '09 (School of H&S) to campus. Mayer and Lahm will share insights and answer questions about their academic and professional experiences at a dinner held in the Athletics and Events Center VIP Room at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10.

Justice Mayer is a New York State Supreme Court Justice for the Tenth Judicial District, Riverhead, New York, where he presides over civil matters. Lahm is an associate at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, where she assists with municipal matters. Their discussion will focus on the relationship between a judge and a clerk.

About Jennifer Lahm

After graduating cum laude from Ithaca College in 2009, Lahm earned her juris doctorate from Touro Law Center in 2012, where she served as research editor for the Touro Law Review. Prior to joining McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, Lahm served as the multicounty litigation law clerk to the Hon. Brian R. Martinotti, J.S.C.

Lahm is an associate in the firm's commercial services group, where she is currently assisting with matters involving land use, OPRA, purchase agreements, and general advisory concerns. She is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey, New York, and Florida, as well as the District Court of New Jersey.

About Peter Mayer

After receiving his bachelor's degree from Ithaca College in 1970, Mayer earned his juris doctorate in 1973 from St. John's University School of Law. In January 2006, he took the bench as a New York State Supreme Court Justice for the Tenth Judicial District, Riverhead, New York, where he presides over civil matters. Prior to this, Mayer worked in private practice in Suffolk County, New York, and in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, focusing on federal and state criminal defense. He also served Suffolk County in many capacities through his work in the district attorney's office.

Mayer has been a member of the New York State Bar since 1974, and the Colorado State Bar since 1991. He is admitted to the Federal Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the District of Colorado and the District of Arizona.
