Ithaca College

Srijana Bajracharya, professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, and Ithaca College alum Dr. Nahd Ali presented a paper on the program “Know 2 B Well: Breast Cancer and Environment,” at the 65th annual meeting of Society of Public Health Association (SOPHE) in Baltimore, MD, in March. 

This paper was presented under the category of “Women’s Health Issues” which focused on the best practices for cancer prevention. The presentation was one of three nationally known programs including the Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida, the Education of Women with Developmental Disabilities of Indiana University, and the Center for Appalachia Research in Cancer Education.

This project was a part of Ali’s Fieldwork which was conducted by a collaborative effort of HPPE Graduate Program, Human Resources (HR), and Center for Health Promotion (CHP). An Academic grant was awarded by the Provost’s Office to administer this program during 2013 academic year. 

The individuals who contributed to this project were: Nancy Reynolds, Program Director, CHP; Robin Davis, Assistant Director of Employee Benefits and Work Life and Katie Sack from HR; and graduate assistant, Ashley Bleistein from HPPE.
