A Voice for Freedom

A reading by Sonali Samarasinghe, human rights activist, award-winning journalist, and visiting international scholar-in-residence in Honors. Wednesday, April 9, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Handwerker Gallery.

Samarasinghe will be reading from her new poetry chapbook, The Land My Father Gave Me, and her upcoming nonfiction book on Sri Lankan media and politics. The event also celebrates Samarasinghe's two years as a visiting scholar in Honors. Co-sponsored by IC's Honors Program and Ithaca City of Asylum. A reception follows the reading. Free and open to the public.
