If you work behind a desk, you are well aware of the difficulties that it brings to your body. Desk work can often lead to back and neck pain as well as heart disease, and staring at a computer screen for long periods of time could result in eye strain and headaches.

Whether you sit at a desk all day long or want to be more comfortable when working on a computer at home, follow these tips to help reduce the effects on your body:

  • Maintain good posture by keeping a straight back and neck
  • Get up and move around for 10 minutes every hour
  • Adjust your computer monitor and chair height to keep your neck, arms, and legs in line
  • Stretch your back and neck periodically
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator and go for a brief walk during lunch and breaks
